SNL Is Rarely Funny….

… but when it IS, I feel strangely compelled to post about it.

Maybe I do it just to subconsciously justify the fact that I have not missed an episode of Saturday Night Live in over 10 years now.

Whatever the reason, SNL continues to have its strongest skits when it lets its talented cast do some celebrity impersonations. This skit, for me at least, really highlighted just how talented these guys can be sometimes….

Anyway, my favorite part of this one was Fred Armissen (A Valley Stream native, like me! Woot! Represent!) doing his take on Ice T.

Enjoy!

P.S.  Friz has a big birthday coming up next week, so being the kick-ass man I am, I am taking 19 of her closest friends out Saturday night for an evening of debauchery.  It will NOT end with me throwing up on myself after doing 15 tequilla shots.  Most certainly not.

Ugh...I didn't find that funny at all. Just an excuse for the cast to do impressions. Which are fine, but it would help if what they were saying was funny.

Okay. I clickety-clicked on the video and have since taken a shower, blow dried my hair and consumed three beers, and it still has not come up. Mayhaps it is because I’m in India and the internet here is conversing with the internet there and well, they just can’t understand each other…or more than likely, your internet connection can’t understand mine in India.

So basically I can’t watch the SNL video. That aside, I hope Friz has a great birthday. And after reading about your night with Te-kill-ya, I hope that you are playing the role of designated driver.

I still watch SNL, too - I think I always will. Sometimes more raptly, but either way- I'll watch it.

You MUST drink 15 shots of tequila! Whose birthday is this, anyway?!
Oh.
Yeah. Maybe just 3 shots this time.

After watching this clip, it re-affirms why I don't watch SNL anymore. I vividly recall the first time I saw Dan Akroyd and Jane Curtain do 'The Coneheads', and I still recall Christopher Walken pleading for 'More Cow Bell'. But this I will forget before I even finish typing this comment.

earl: not even a little?

emp: thats odd. i guess it MUST be an international thing, but i would still think a link from nbc.com would work.

sybil: remember the days when we would watch SNL naked, im bed together, after a long day of lovemaking?

lotus: i find that if you lower your standards, you enjoy things much more. at least thats what my wife says...

Wow, you da man! Taking all those ladies out. Lucky her. Have fun. I'm a fan of old time SNL because I grew up in the 70's.

The other hour and 25 minutes of the show must have really sucked if that was the good part :)

I love Fred Armissen. His character on Parks & Rec playing a Venezuelan dictator was too hilarious!
