The Weather Outside Is Frightful

Want to know the definition of “suck”?

Its when, after most local weather guys informed us that we probably will NOT be hit with another snowstorm this year here on Long Island, we get blitzkrieged with the biggest fucking storm we’ve had in years…..

… on a Monday morning…..

… and EVERY DAMN business and school on the island correctly deduces that it would be better for everyone if they just closed for the day and let it’s employees be safe and relax at home…..

… EXCEPT FOR MY FUCKING COMPANY!!!!!!!

My God, what IS it with this place? We just don’t close. Ever!

It’s like the North Pole outside, except you can take away any fucking feeling of general Christmas Merriment or happy talking woodland creatures.

There was NO reason to open up today. None. The roads are ridiculous. It took me 3 times as long to get here today as normal, and when I finally DID get here, the place was pretty much deserted, because people who are obviously smarter than myself decided to break down and just take a fucking personal day rather than deal with this mess.

Not me. No fucking way. This place will have to pry one of my personal days from my cold, frostbitten, dead hands. I only use personal days for orgy/ski trips, or orgies that DON’T involve skiing.

Basically if the planned activity is “anything”/orgy, I’ll take a personal day for it, k?

Where was I?

Oh yeah, today sucks.

P.S. Thanks for all your wonderful ideas about last week’s pajama party. Against my better judgment, I DID decide to wear clothes, but regrettably there was no bisexual pillow fight afterwards. There WERE a few moms there wearing pajamas, but none that I wanted to bang. For what it’s worth, it didn’t appear that they wanted to bang me either. Maybe they were just playing hard to get. After all, there isn’t ANYONE who doesn’t want to screw me silly.

My son, however, DID get up on stage with the magician on hand and entertained the crowd. I took some cell phone video but I’m not sure how well it came out. If it looks halfway decent, I’ll be sure to throw it up here for you to check out.

I do think it's much better to save your personal days for something "fun" than on a day like you have. And work with no one there is always better because you really can't/don't have to be that productive anyway.

louise: you are right about that... how do you think i wrote this post? :)

It started snowing here on Wednesday night, through Thursday morning. Quit mid-morning. I wake up to snow on Friday and it snowed. And kept snowing. Snowed all day Friday- high was a -2. So much now in fact that the snow plow came down our gravel road twice before noon! We have 8-12 inches now, and some drifts are 2 feet or more. I am so glad I don't have to go anywhere or fight bad roads.

Snow in Boston yesterday and STILL today!

As for the wee one...sounds like he didn't fall too far off the Slyde tree. heehee.

Wow! Yeah you did the right thing Slyde. This reinforces the idea to management that you are a trooper who will do anything for the company.
So when you have a short notice orgy day they will assume you are truly sick.

Our snow was not nearly as bad as what you got,it seems, but they closed school all the same. grrrr

I don't think my children have actually gone to school this year.

Your company must be doing very important things like creating world peace. You should be proud that the company you work for has such a strong work ethic. I bet its loaded with high achieving people. All those employees that didn't make it probably ran off the road because the were speeding to get in on time.

And I finally got to the blog before Earl. He must be out shoveling snow! I know, thats not likely....

It's going to be 74 degrees here on Saturday. Come on down. We'll romp around in our pjs and drink something to keep us hydrated in all that heat!

Plus, we're lesbians. We won't be banging you...but I bet you'll get a good story out of us! ;0

yeah, there was like five snow/windchill -45 degree days at the very beginning of winter. everything closed, schools, day cares, malls, walgreens.

now, when there is a forecast for 14 inches, -45 degree windchill nothing closes. NOTHING!!

it's like we are a collectively bitter bunch not fucking giving the snow one more day.

and seriously, I would enjoy days at home with the kids, but we are trapped inside. blah!!!

and yeah, i'm not ever calling in and giving the gov'ment any of my personal orgy days.

power to the people slyde!!!

btw, wtf, how did you get 47 followers? I mean, I have to fight and scrap to get my 15. Which went down by two recently for some unknown reason.

ok

peace out!!

:)

Your company sucks. But you knew that. why do you work there again? Oh wait... because it gives you something to blog about (other than ski orgies and PJ parties) ;-)

I love the picture. It's so pretty there. Our winter storm consisted of a light dusting of snow and some wind.

But yea, I'd go to work, too. I mean, I usually get WAY more done when no one is around to bother me.

I'd rather skip an extra orgy day than freeze at work. Then again, I freeze no matter what.

It was above average...but the high here yesterday was 91 degrees. Little more toasty on my end of the U.S.!

It is 75 degrees here and partly cloudy, it is always 75 degrees here and party cloudy......it gets boring after a while.

I could be wrong but I think you're mildly irritated that you had to go into work.

I'm sorry there were no pillow fights. You have had a bad week, haven't you?

Yikes. Even my class (which was supposed to be the first one) got cancelled on Monday. Your company needs to start putting the safety of their employees first. But I guess in times like these, when we are in recessions, they take advantage of you for all they can. Grrr! Anyway, glad you survived the PJ party without getting raped. ;)
