It's Catchy, And I Can Dance To It

Unless you were living under a rock this week, you most likely have heard actor Christian Bale's rant on the set of Terminator 4 from a few months ago, or at least heard ABOUT it.

In the audio clip, he goes completely POSTAL to the director of photography for walking into his line of site during a scene. I'm sure that that is a big no-no in the wold of film-making, but I just cant get past the childish, F-Bomb laden rant he goes off on for something so silly.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's a fine actor, and I really dig me some American Psycho, but between this explosion, and the reports that he physically attacked his mother and sister over the summer, and would have been arrested for it had they not dropped the charges, I don't think its a stretch to think that this guy needs a nice relaxing colonic or something.

Anyway, that's neither here nor there. What i wanted to share with you all was the catchy little ditty that i linked to below.

Some L.A. dj's took Bale's 4 minute rant and sampled it to create one of the funniest damn things i have heard in a while. And I'm not along in thinking so.... this little dance tune is as we speak blazing across the country, and is starting to be played in clubs everywhere.

I'm not kidding when i tell you that i kinda dig it. I already have it on my Ipod. It's the perfect, feel-good song to play when you are trying to live through rush-hour traffic in the morning.

Note: Be warned! As you could imagine, the F-bomb is used throughout. Don't say i didn't warn you. Listen, just don't crank the speakers and listen to it while you are feeding your toddler or while taking a conference call and you should be good, k?

I can say that I have heard the tape of Bale’s ranting and it is much better with music in the background.

I have many thoughts about the tantrum that Bale had on set. I'll try to contain myself.

But, I can say that sometimes, people are allowed to be angry assholes and this is the only way they know how to express themselves while under duress. This was the case with Bale.

Unfortunately, it often takes severe consequences (such as criminal charges and jail time) before they have cause to pause and think about changing the way they operate.

And artists often get a free ride. Like being creative is license to let your inner angry asshole fly free. It's not though. That Kramer guy from Seinfeld learned that the hard way.

WHEW!!! I think I passed out there for a minute.

ok, enough taking taken up space with talk of this dude's uselessness.

OBTW-my latest post was inspired by PEEE POOOP!!!

That was funny I have to show that to Laundry Fairy.

@ Holly: "Letting my inner asshole fly" I love that expression I'm going to use that from now on.....

The mash-up is funny, but i think the furor over the whole incident is a bit cuckoo nutso. So what? A movie star freaks out on the DP during the filming of a blockbuster? Big deal!

As long as he keeps making good movies I don't care how nuts he acts.

pretty catchy,.... i don't have much of an opinion on the whole sitch, i think i'm with earl on this - he keeps making good movies, i'll keep watching... i'm not the one who has to work with him. so....

James: Yes, I was kind of proud of that expression I wrote . ..

"Letting my inner angry asshole fly"

Heard this last week over at Chris's blog (http://www.futurebackwards.com/) and I'll say exactly what I did then...

Bale seriously must have starved himself to the point of brain damage for The Machinist. He's obviously missing the bits that process logic and reasonal behaviour.

But I still love him in The Prestige and Batman Begins.

Very funny video.

I read a great thing once about these kinds of anger outbursts. It said that when rage explodes and we seem to be powerless over it, that's not true at all. Our brains make split-second decisions which basically boil down to, "can I get away with it." That's what he must have done, the big prima donna bully. He wouldn't have spoken that way to a couple of gang bangers with scars on their faces.

i'm with earl on this one. as long as he makes good movies, who cares how he acts on the set. eventually, he'll do that in a bar and get his ass kicked or get picked up for a dwi.

But just WHO was he freaking out at??? i heard a name David, but who is that? And I'm one of the few who haven't heard about this, so I guess I'll just look it up.

I'll be putting this on a CD to play tonight at our Brownie Troop meeting.

I'm relatively sure they'll stop pushing me around then.

I'm kidding, I'm kidding...sorta.

Damn. My daughter walked in at the 30s mark. I was lovin' what I had heard until that point. As for Mr. Bale... well, acting is a very emotionally tough exercise. We have no idea where he was in a particular scene when he was interrupted... for very good actors, it's often a very difficult transition from being immersed in the art to acting like a normal human being? We all have our shitty moments, and I, for one, am vehemently against judging someone based on a singular incident. Or two. Unless, of course, singular incident is something like Charles Manson ordering his cronies to murder Sharon Tate. Then, by all means, judge away. :-P

Oh OH, that sounds a bit like me when I am having a rant. It's quite catchy too.

While I DO enjoy dropping a well placed F-bomb, I've gotta say that Bale's freak out was pretty crazy. But really, can't you tell by just looking at him that he could snap at a moment's notice?
I don't think that voice he takes on when he becomes Batman is acting...I think that's his inner psycho coming out.

BUT - I love the tune! It was especially funny since Sesame Street is on in the background at my place :)

That is fricken hilarious!!! Can you say anger mangament classes???

What does he have to be pissed about ? That's my question.

I immediately thought of his incident with his mom and his sister and am wondering if he needs some anger management classes. I don't get why people think they can act like spoiled children and throw these tantrums just because they are famous. But yeah, this video was kinda funny.
