Kanye West Is a Moron

I cannot STAND Kanye.

I realize that many people consider him one of the best songwriters/performers of the current day, but I just cannot get past the fact that he is one of the most egotistical jack-offs that I have ever had the displeasure to endure.

He is constantly jumping up on stage at award shows and ranting like a 4 year old when he doesnt win an award that he thinks he should have won, and just last month he compared himself as this generation's Beatles.

Not even close.

The last time I checked, neither Paul, John, George or EVEN Ringo were this unintelligible (which is a pretty damning thing to say, since 2 of them are dead).

My favorite part of the clip below, is seeing just how damn uncomfortable Mike Meyers is, standing next to one of the biggest idiots of our day. I didn't think ANYTHING could get Austin Powers flustered, but here it is.

Watch in astonishment as someone who has made millions on writing and perfoming the written word, can't seem to articulate even one sentence or read from a telepromter during a past Katrina hurricane relief telethon.

I'm sure John Lennon is cringing in his grave.....

Typically if I hear Kanye on the radio, I tend to just ignore it. His songs neither thrill me (to use your phrase there) or bother me. But when I see him go on stage to speak, or see him in an interview...Ugh. He just irritates me. His arrogance, coupled with his stupidity. Ugh.

So you just got outraged at a piece of video from 3 years ago? I mean, just yesterday he threw a hissy fit when somebody threw something on stage at a concert in Australia. And there is video of it. Check it out in 3 years if you don't believe me.

Thank you Slyde for giving my idea for the next Potter's Ground Game(which is on sunday's now-on account of the people who can'tget vids at work!)

sass: i completely ignore him too

earl: thats really, pathetically funny from the person who recently posted a video of dancing buddha, a youtube sensation from about 5 years ago, and who still talks about Angel and Buffy like they didnt get cancelled sometime last century.

michele: right back at ya

zibs: ditto.

honey: not knowing mike meyers? that IS alittle behind the times :)

mrs hall: im glad to be your muse..

I remember seeing that after Katrina hit... My jaw dropped and I couldn't believe they didn't cut him off. Poor Mike.. I don't know how he kept from killing him.

latindog said...

I have no idea who that guy is.

Bina said...

Oh. My. God. See, there was a reason I didn't watch much of the coverage of that. Because of people like him. And what about on the AMA's when he said he wanted to be compared to Elvis. That was Kenya that said that, right? That man is a freaking idiot and I can not STAND him!!!!

Faiqa said...

I have actually NOT seen this infamous video, so thank you for posting it. Stephen Colbert did a great bit this week about Kanye... I think he's calling it his "Humble Kanye" campaign?

teeni said...

I was too uncomfortable to watch the dang thing all the way through. Sheesh. How hard can it be to read a teleprompter?

Kanye West may be an egotistical schmuck (the Beatles reference was pretty over the top....), but based on what was going on at the time during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina three years ago, for once I don't necessarily disagree with him. It's easy to ignore someone who has something to say when you're not affected by it....

Slyde said...

dizz: i agree. i feel bad for mike in that video

latin: you're better off for it.

bina: the AMA's were only ONE of the few award shows that he did something very stupid at..

faiqa: colbert in the man..

teeni: apparently, very!

anon: my dislike of the video was not so much WHAT he said, but that he was so damn unintelligible in his attempt to say it.

Meghan said...

I love his music and make no apologies for it, but his personality licks balls big time.

B.E. Earl said...

Slyde - I don't think I posted a video with a dancing buddha. That doesn't sound familiar to me at all. And do not dare take either Angel's or Buffy's name in vain. Go get him for that, Faiqa!

AlleyCat said...

I don't like him or his music either!! The word wanker springs immediately to mind.

Chris H said...

That git was here in New Zealand the other day! I don't think much of him either.

Faiqa said...

So funny Earl! My original comment read like this, "HEY!! I get that Earl has to be put in his place, but do not defile the Buffy and Angel in your blinded rage!!" I thought it was little too dramatic, so I went with the Colbert thing.

Kanye is no moron. He's what we in the legal field call a douche. Unfortunately, that douche dominates my current iPod queue during my runs :(

Anyway, onto the real reason I'm dropping by:

DAAAAAAAAYUM, you're looking YUMMY in your new icon-avy ;D SERIOUSLY.

He's a twit. 'Nuff said.

Im not a fan of Kanye either - waaaay too much ego

2abes said...

kanye who?

Slyde said...

meghan: thats how i feel about him.

earl: yes, you did, and you know it. the little indian midget dude.

alleycat: wanker definitely fits.

chrish: new zealand huh? yes he really gets around

faiqa: make no mistake, i loves me some buffy, but one cant argue that the show is "topical" anymore..

letty: so "douche" is a legal term? interesting. And thanks for the compliment, since i have been drooling over your pic for months now...

tamara: agreed.

Brazen: UNBELIEVABLY too much ego

abes: exactly

B.E. Earl said...

Slyde - oh, so to prove how topical you are you are hitting me for posting something 6 MONTHS AGO that was a bit old? How long has that one been bothering you? Lemme guess. 6 months?

Oh, and yes he was a height-challenged actor from India in the clip. I don't know what that has to do with Buddha in your mind. Hmm.

Slyde said...

earl: if you ever stopped blathering for a minute to, you know, READ UP ON WHAT YOU POST, you would know that that guy is known around the internet as little buddha.

a BIT old? a BIT? That clip was running around the net YEARS before the kanye clip above that you seemed to want to call me on.

B.E. Earl said...

Actually, if you read up on what you comment on (douche), you would know that that little guy is known around the internet as "Little Superstar". There is even a wiki entry for him under that name. So, once again (and I've lost count of how many times this has happened), you prove yourself ignorant even in your own comments. Quite sad, I would have to say.

(PS - to everyone out there. This isn't a flame war. This is just how we talk to each other. But he is coming across as a big of a douche, don't you agree?)

Chris said...

Poor Mike Myers. I was watching that event live, and almost choked on my drink when Kanye said that....

I like how they just cut him off right after that.

Slyde said...

Chris: absolutely. That awkward cutoff at the end after he says that George Bush hates black people is by far my favorite part.

Bruce said...

Every time I hear the man speak, I change the channel...not from my generation.....don't need to know him or listen to him.

THIS is a big part of what is wrong with our nation today...morons like West are paid millions to hip hop all over the stage and screen and people who are equally as moronic buy the crap they call music and keep idiots like West in business. Young people (black and white) look up to an idiot like West and think to themselves "If he can make millions and be such an idiot, so can I"...WRONG!
