I’m Giving Her All She’s Got, Captain

Don’t worry, this isn’t a post about Star Trek (although Lord knows I could do a Star Trek post… wouldn’t THAT be topical and fun!).

No, this is a post about blogs.

YOUR Blogs, specifically.

If you are one of the wonderfully lucky people who I link to on the right, then you are TRULY one of the blessed few of the cyberverse who has the rare privilege of getting ME to read and post your blog.

In other words, if I like you, then I try to try to take the time to stop by your blog for just about every post and jot down one of my witty comments. I’m sure it makes your day. You know what I’m talking about. It’s a precious gift to you that I give.

But I just can’t keep up with it.

You may have noticed, especially if you are one of the more frequent bloggers among you, that I have been commenting on your blogs a little less often.

It’s not because I’ve grown disinterested, I swear.

The simple truth is that, as the number of blogs I’ve discovered that I love has grown, the less amount of time I have to devote to reading each of you.

The amount of posts that I try to read is just getting staggering. Every time I log into Google reader, I am avalanched with 60, 70, 80 new posts! No sooner than I do my best to read them all, only to see 30-40 new posts appear in my reader the next morning. Sometimes I feel like I am fighting the tide; sweeping it back out to sea, only to have it come crashing back on me a few minutes later.

Truly, we all like to write. A lot.

I’ve come to the sad conclusion that I just can’t keep up anymore.

What it all boils down to is, going forward I am realistically going to be able to check up on my blog-reading every 2-3 days or so (usually its during the same period where I find the time to actually post something on THIS blog).

So what this means to my fine sexy followers is this: If you see me stopping by your blog a little less often, please don’t hold it against me (on the other hand, if you have a hot, supple body, then by all means feel free to hold THAT against me).

The reality is, I just cant keep up anymore, and I’d rather change things up this way, than to just cut the amount of blogs I read (which a friend suggested to me).

After all, if I have linked to you over on the right, it means that, in some form or another, I love your stuff, and find you quite sexy.

Now of course, if any of you fine ladies would like to financially support me, then I can quit my job and just read blogs full time (and be your full-service sex slave, to boot). That, of course, is YOUR call.

But I’m open to that. Really.

sometimes i come back to the computer after a couple of days and there are literally 500+ things waiting for me in my reader.

Nancy boy!

C'mon...admit it. The only reason you are blogging less is because of all the video gaming you are doing, sissy man. Admit it.

I totally get it(says the woman still adding more to her google reader).

I love your writing so I will continue to read.

You are not missing much on my blog right now so don't feel bad!

"The reality is I just can't keep up anymore"...more like I can't keep IT up...OH NO HE DIDN'T.

Seriously, I'm taking from this that you're just freeing up more time so you can really start to study, analyze and preach the writings of my blog. Yeah that what I'm taking from this.

Slyde said...

crys: 500 blogs would kill me. really.

earl: thats funny comming from someone who doesnt work, and just sits around his apartment eating chicken pot pie in his underwear and blog all day.

marie: pish posh! i love your stuff.

zibs: you are one of the people that TRULY amaze me. You post so often, and you are always right with the comments. i dont know how you do it!

give up a few of you porn subscriptions and you'll find plenty of time for the blogging community

Slyde said...

abes: No porn? what good is the internet then?

Anonymous said...

lol I feel your pain. I'm doing my damnedest to catch up today!

Faiqa said...

Hmm. Would you like some cheese with your whine, sir?

No, really, I can completely relate. I've managed to keep up with most of the blogs I read by making a conscious effort not to comment on every single post I read.

Unless I have something important to say.

Like right now.

That's what you get for being hot. That'll learn ya, dern ya.

Ok so i feel secure in knowing that you love me!! That in and of itself rocks!!

I forgive you if you do not have the time to leave a witty comment on my blog posts!! But, i will say this:
your witty comments are what i live for!!!!!

Now go freaking read my blog and leave a witty comment!!!

Love ya dear!!!

I totally hear you, Slyde. I'm having a hard time keeping up with all my reads and I'm a stay at home wife! I don't know how anyone else does it. But I always knew you'd get too popular for your own good! LOL. Anyway, no pressure - you do what is right for you. I will always treasure the comments I get no matter how many or how few. :)

I hear ya! I feel warm and tingly special "there" when you comment on my blgs. It makes me happy. It is hard keeping up with everyone. I will try to understand and try not to stray to far to get my warm and tinglies elsewhere ;P

Angie said...

your such a tease... sex slave... please do not tease , maybe after your sex slave experience you can blog about that... but then again it would be hard to do if your eyes are rolling to the back of your head with delight... I would have to untie you off course... oxoxoxo

So I checked, and I'm on your little list to the right - score one for me!

If I started posting more sexy-ish pictures, would that get you swinging by more often?

I'm at home for 5 more's not like I don't have the time. Though the husband might not appreciate that so much...hmmmm...

Mrs. Hall said...

um, jeez. no big deal not stopping by so much. Honestly, I stopped keeping track of who visits my blog. And part of me thinks only those who comment visit.

but, seriously, it is staggering the amount of writers out there.

this is why I have a self imposed limit!

no more discovering new blogs for me.

i'm full!

Since I only manage to post about twice a month, we should be good. One of these years, I'm going to update my blogroll and your hotness will be gracing it.

Unknown said...

Visit when you can and I'll try not to hold it against you:P

Chris H said...

Pffffft... stop bleating! I am in the same boat as you! I hate opening Google always says between 150-200 updates to read! Far out how does that happen in a couple of days??? *sigh* I must stop, I must stop, I must stop visiting so many friggin blogs!!!!! But not yours, cos you are OK, even when you bleat.

Tamara said...

I'm pretty sure you write posts like these just so you can have all the hot women who read your blog tell you how important you are to them ;-)

I must admit, I don't really count the number of comments I get from specific peeps, but now I'll know to treasure the comments I do get from you even more. K?

I won't start a new blog then - that would only add to the pressure.

Where can I send my donation?

Your humble-ness speaks volumes....just like the phone books I throw away each year.

I have been doing the same thing. I have cut down my blog 'reading' to about 2 days a week and my blog 'writing to about 2 days a week. The Bruser just can't keep up with the strain, and I am older than Slyde.

Which is why I usually weed out my blog list about once a month to no more than 30 blogs I follow. Any more than that I start loosing sleep. The ones at the bottom of the list are in danger of falling off into oblivion because they have not posted in ages.

It is survival of the fitest (blogger that is), sometimes sacrifices have to be made.

dmb5_libra said...

can't cut back huh? sounds like an addiction.

i feel your pain though. i keep adding blogs to my reader knowing full and well i don't have the time to comment on them all.

Unknown said...

I used to love Google reader when I first got it. But then I slowly started hating it. It's the same crap. I sign in, read everyone, a day goes by and there are 100 or more posts to read! I felt too over whelmed and it was more about keeping up with reader than reading blogs, so I went back to just going down my blog roll. It makes things so much easier and less stressful!

And I don't hold that against you, but I will take you up on the other option! LOL

Maybe try some horney goat weed. to help you keep up, that is :0)

You're blog is extremely popular. Even I have a hard time keeping up and mine is nothing compared to yours.

I'd love that Star Trek post, by the way. But, I'm afraid most readers are too young to really know the original. I watched it as a teenager, and more or less, for the next twenty years on the reruns. For me, none of the sequel programs ever really captured my mind.

I know what you mean. I can't leave comments on the 6 blogs that I follow...
