Lego My Eggo

Remember in the not too distant past (i.e. my last article), when I said that I had at one point envisioned that I could somehow earn a living from this site?

Well, I wasn't kidding. Not really. The problem, as I had mentioned previously, is that for the life of me, I just cant think of any service or product that I can reasonably produce that ANYONE on this Earth would agree to pay money for. And that small detail just keeps sending my plans of retiring at 40 into a complete state of Higgledy-Piggledy.

The fact that I am too stupid to come up with anything to sell over the internet drives me even MORE crazy when I come upon sites like is run by 2 college kids who share an apartment, and apparently have no money to actually furnish said apartment (Welcome to college, kids!). What sets these young collegians apart from others of their ilk, is that they decided to do something about it. For every dollar you send them, they will place one Lego in one of their empty rooms, and they have vowed to not stop until their entire room is filled with wall-to-wall bricks of Legos.

"A stupid idea!", you say? "That's a waste of time and energy!", you say? Tell THAT to their bank account. Fillmyroom went live on January 12th, less than 3 weeks ago, and according to their site they have made over 600 dollars from contributions so far.

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't mind having an extra 600 dollars in my bank account this month. It would at least pay my hospital bills when I throw myself out a 4 story window screaming "I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY ARE MAKING MONEY OFF THAT!".

And don't even get me started on THESE guys. For every 2 dollars you send them, they will send you a mystery item from around their home. A crayon-drawn picture, a plastic army man, a coat-hangar, an old Kleenex, whatever tickles their fancy. And you know what.... people are sending THEM money too. According to them, they won't stop until they are billionaires. And who knows, they just might make it, too.

Sites like the ones mentioned above have inspired me. There HAS to be some untapped market out there in the world of Cyberspace that no one has thought of yet, that can net me an income. I sit here wracking my brains, but I just can't come up with anything. Tell you guys what.... if you can think of ANYTHING that will make me (I mean, US) rich beyond my wildest dreams, please let me in on it, before some other dumb jackass beats us to the punch again. No idea is too stupid, I promise! What do you say?
